Andrews Family Law and Mediation Offices

Divorce Services

Going through a divorce (dissolution) can be one of life's most challenging ordeals, both emotionally and financially. And unfortunately, it is rarely an easy process even under the best of circumstances. At Andrews Law and Mediation Offices, we understand this, and can help you through the process, whether you are filing the divorce or have been served with papers and need to respond. Your concerns may range from (1) spousal support, (2) fair division of assets and debts, (3) child support and custody.

  1. Spousal Support: Under California law, one spouse may be entitled to receive financial support from the other spouse, during and following dissolution of the marriage. We have represented both supporting and supported spouses and are focused on a fair resolution of this issue based on the many legal factors which come into play in determining spousal support.

  2. Fair Division of Assets and Debts: Under California law, all earnings and accumulations during the marriage are “community property.” Divorce proceedings often involve determining which property is community, as opposed to separate, and then valuation of the property (real and personal) in order to make a fair division. At times, a community property business must be valued as well.

  3. Child Support and Custody: When children are involved in a divorce, matters can be complicated even further. Andrews Law and Mediation Offices can help you with child support, visitation and custody issues, and order modifications, as well as helping you and your spouse to create a parenting plan.

Move away cases (where one parent desires to move to another state or another country) create a completely different scenario and professional legal help is often necessary to protect the rights of both parents and to ensure the best interests of the child or children.

This is by no means a comprehensive list of the issues which arise in divorce, but the above issues are the most common. For a consultation, please fill out the Initial Consultation Form, which you may e-mail or fax directly to us, and we will call you to schedule an appointment.
